Being Lorna 2.0, LLC
Ok- so who am I?
I am Lorna, the Dean and a student here at WTFU University. So, who am I, what is Being Lorna 2.0 all about, and what happened to Lorna 1.0, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you.
Lorna 1.0 was who I was for 40-something years of my life. I was the “get ‘er done” kind of person that was going through the motions of life, but never really LIVING. Going to work in corporate America doing management-type jobs that I was good at and that paid me well, but they were jobs and environments that were slowly sucking the life out of me. It was kind of like I was sleepwalking through life, very close to unknowingly taking that fatal step into the abyss of nothingness.
Then, in 2012, after having some sudden and unfamiliar physical issues, I eventually received the diagnosis that I had Multiple Sclerosis (MS), among a host of other ailments. My condition rendered me unable to work, and I had to leave behind the six-figure salary and take a pit stop on this journey called life. Even though I’m not fond of MS, this is the best thing that has happened to me because it caused me to wake the [bleep] up from the nightmare I was calling life.
After waking up, I began to see how I’d been living, recognize what was important, learn how to be happy, try to operate from a position of love instead of somnambulistic fear, and most importantly, learn how to be a human BEING instead of thinking that I always had to be a human DOING.
Am I some professional guru? No. Am I some esteemed scholar? No. Are you likely to see me on an episode of “Oprah’s Life Lessons”? Maybe one day 🙂 Am I perfect? No. Am I perfect in my imperfection? Yes 🙂
Right now, I’m just here to share what I’ve learned; hopefully make you think about your own situation, and to bring a smile to your face. No, I am not always politically correct, nor do I always speak the King’s English if I don’t feel like it (I’m guessing you deduced that little factoid from the title of the website…). I’m just tryna’ keep it real.
P.S. You’re likely to learn more about me by visiting the Rec Room from time to time. Check it out!
